Who do I go with?

We're 16 and I've known this guy named Rudy since mid-January. I really like him and have been getting to know him really well. According to his best friend(i talk to the friend only in cl), he's planning on asking my out 2morow but my friends think I shouldn't date him because I came close to dating him before but he changed his mind and thought we should just be friends. Then he changed his mind again and i think he is serious about dating this time. But when he changed his mind, I got really hurt and my friends don't think I should date him again because they don't want me to get hurt again but then again, they don't know him like I do. I really want to try but I'm SUPER scared he will hurt me again but maybe he's changed. Who do I listen to, my friends or him(he says he's serious about liking me and he won't hurt me again)? What do I do?
