I could make you a case for the Trinity, but it looks like others have already done it. You want to convince and instruct people in your own take on doctrine, not to ask a question. However, if I were to make a case for the Trinity I wouldn't have even thought to use that particular verse because it's absent from most modern translations and footnoted that it was a later addition. So why would I use it? I don't need it.
