Is Young Earth Creationism doomed among American Evangelism as the evidence of an old earth becomes so obvious?

I hope so. Young Earth Creationism does more harm to faith than Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny. YEC doesn't have a scientific leg to stand on and when it's disproved, there goes faith. Just stop it already and accept the fact that when God explained creation to Moses he used a parable, just as he did when he walked the earth as Jesus Christ. If God had explained everything as it is to a 14th century BC shepherd he would have melted his brain. And even if Moses had gotten it he would have been stoned as a heretic when he tried to explain it to his peeps. "In the beginning, God made the Big Bang, and all matter, which had been condensed to a single point, suddenly started expanding at nearly the speed of light, and ten billion years later God formed the earth out of swirling ges..." yeah that goes over big with the Bedouins of 3500 years ago.
