How do I turn down the guy I like for a dance?

I'd just be honest and say... "Thank you but I'm way too shy to dance just yet!" Smile & start a conversation so he knows you aren't blowing him off or "I'm not really in the mood to dance but do you wanna go get some punch with me?" or whatever other activities you can think of to show interest but avoid dancing!
