Do you think a hope chest is old fashioned? and if given the chance would/did you keep one?

I suppose I'm a little old fashioned, it might have something to do with how I was raised, but I have a toy box that my dad built me when I was little, but has since turned into a hope chest. I keep a quilt my grandma hand sewed as a girl, a quilt my great grandma made, a set of dishes that were found in my grandma's attic as well as my baby album and my American girl doll that I would like to p on one day. I guess I'm asking if you think I might be a little old fashioned for treasuring every item I place in it in hopes of using it for the future. My mom never had one but says she has one through me.
